The discovery of the switches that determined the level of employment, published by Lord Keynes in 1936, is likely to start a new chapter in economic and political thought. The theory has been generally accepted among economists, but has yet to penetrate the general public. It is suggested by Professor Polanyi that it is possible for this policy to be understood and that for the future of the world it is important that, as early as possible, there should be a generalized understanding of the principles
